Benefits

FAQ

Black pepper contains a natural substance called piperine that enhances the absorption of curcumin. Because curcumin is fat-soluble, consuming it with dietary fat may further increase its absorption.

Curcumin is generally safe and does not cause any significant side effects. Some people may experience stomach upset, nausea, dizziness or diarrhoea after taking turmeric at very high doses for an extended period of time. If you have any of the following conditions you should consult your doctor before supplementing turmeric: diabetes, gallbladder issues, a history or breast/ovarian cancer, acid reflux, infertility, and iron-deficiency anemia. Furthermore, turmeric may impact iron absorption and should be taken several house before or after iron supplements. Turmeric is not recommended for anyone on blood-clotting medication.

The safety of curcumin in medicinal amounts during pregnancy and nursing has not been sufficiently evaluated yet. Consult your doctor before you start taking turmeric.

The main active ingredient in turmeric is called curcumin, a yellow-orange curcuminoid that gives turmeric its distinctive color and flavor. Curcumin appears to be a strong antioxidant with anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties. There is only a small percentage of curcumin found in the actual turmeric root, which is why we formulated our capsules with 95% curcuminoids.
