Benefits

Our bodies naturally produce the hormone melatonin, which prepares the body for sleep and regulates the sleep-wake cycle. Melatonin production follows a natural rhythm in our bodies, triggered by darkness and tapering off again with the morning light. We tend to be constantly connected to our screens, and our “always on” lifestyles can disrupt our melatonin levels − and therefore our sleep cycles.

Melatonin is made even better when paired with all natural essential oils. Our formula contains a relaxation oil blend of lavender and ylang ylang, which are well known for their calming and relaxing properties.

FAQ

Melatonin is a hormone produced by the pineal gland that is crucial for controlling your body's circadian rhythm. Our melatonin levels naturally start rising after the sun sets, and drop off once the sun rises.

Melatonin is the most natural sleep aid out there − your body naturally produces the hormone in the pineal gland of your brain. Safe doses of melatonin range from 0.3 to 5mg (our melatonin is 3.4 mg). If you take medication, it’s smart to check with your doctor as melatonin can interact with some prescriptions.

Melatonin is not recommended for those who suffer from an autoimmune condition or a depressive disorder, and for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Please do not take melatonin if you are diabetic, taking birth control, anticoagulants and other sedatives. Melatonin should be taken only by adults who are +18 years old.

Melatonin becomes disrupted in our bodies when we have too much exposure to light in the evening. Blue lights from smartphones, TVs, and devices are especially harsh. Working late at night and jetlag are also big culprits as these can disrupt our natural rhythms. Another factor can is age, as there is a natural reduction of melatonin production when we get older

Tune into your body to ease the natural process of falling asleep. Our tip: if you find yourself waking up groggy in the morning, try opening the curtains to let the light inside − this will help you wake up faster because it naturally decreases the level of melatonin in your body.

Melatonin is ideal for insomniacs, travelers suffering from jet lag, people working odd hours, and anyone who simply has trouble sleeping.
